Dr Hettie Janssens
Dr Hettie Janssens has been a paediatric pulmonologist in the Erasmus MC/Sophia Children's Hospital in Rotterdam, the Netherlands since 2009. She received her MD at the University of Leiden. Her PhD thesis focused on aerosol therapy in children. Her current research is dedicated to improving aerosol therapy in children with asthma and CF. She is chair of the multidisciplinary CF team in her hospital and is involved in numerous national committees to improve patient care for children with CF.
She was a board member of the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) from 2007–2011 and was vice president of the organising committee for the ISAM congress in 2011 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She is organiser of the ERS school course on medical aerosols, and she co-chairs the ERS/ISAM taskforce on inhalation therapy. She is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Aerosols in Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery and is a regular reviewer for several medical journals.
